RECRUIT Recruitment

We, Tokyo International Law Office, are involved in many international deals and cross border transactions, and assist many Japanese clients on various legal issues, including M&A, corporate, competition law, dispute, and IP. The preferred lawyer for a position in our office is an experienced attorney who has graduated with academic distinction from a premier law school. Japanese proficiency is welcomed, but not required.   • M&A

    Our lawyers have strong track records on outbound M&A transactions by Japanese corporations, joint venture projects with Japan and foreign partners and inbound M&A transactions by foreign investors in Japan.

    We have also represented many domestic M&A transactions, such as buy-out, tender offer, mergers, curve-outs or joint ventures.

    Our strength is to comprehend the business strategy of our client deeply and proactively take a management role of the entire deal. We will coordinate smoothly with other professionals including foreign counsels so that we can lead our client to the ultimate success.

  • Cross-border Dispute

    If you look closely into the background of the international dispute, the roots cause for such disputes are often the gap or the differences of the parties’ norm, value or culture.

    Based on the wealth of experiences with the cross-border legal practices, we will act to fulfil the gap between the parties and to prevent the true dispute to happen.

    In case if the issue goes to the court, we will manage and handle such legal procedures by strategic approach utilizing our experiences of cross-border dispute practices and our global network.

  • Regulatory

    As corporations conduct their business activities across the globe, they are also subject to numbers of different laws and regulations, such as anti-trust, anti-bribery, privacy or anti-money laundering, in various jurisdictions.

    Notably, governmental authorities in many jurisdictions are now cooperating each other. As a result, corporations will often be subject to multi-jurisdictional investigations or enforcements.

    Many corporations need to handle properly in each jurisdiction while they need to maintain the consistency with the global strategy.

    Based on the wealth of experiences with the cross-border legal practices, we will assist those corporations to handle such type of complicated global investigations properly and minimize the negative effect caused by such incidents.

    We will build a global strategy and implement it in each local jurisdiction with our global network.

  • Cross-border Strategic Advisory Service

    As many corporations conduct their business activities across the globe, the number of the nations and the jurisdictions that the corporations have to deal with has been increasing.

    Based on the wealth of experiences with the cross-border legal practices and our plentiful global network, we will provide the advisory services specializing cross-border legal strategy, such as investigation of the legislation in any nations and jurisdictions, referral and management of appropriate local law firms and support for advancement overseas.
